Getting There
What happens here, stays ... well you have to get here first for the rule to apply.
Airport
McCarran International Airport (Airport code: LAS) is the principal commercial airport serving Las Vegas and offers service from all major airlines. It is located five miles south of the central business district and serves as the largest operation base for Allegiant and Southwest Airlines. US Airways also has a large presence in Las Vegas.
REMINDER It’s race weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Airfare will probably reflect the high demand for flights this weekend. Plan accordingly and book early.
Transportation to the Wynn
Taxi fare to the airport will be the most efficient. A fee of $1.80 is added to all fares that originate at McCarran. For the 4 mile journey from LAS to the Wynn, a taxi should be about $20 (including a 15 percent tip).
Car Service and Airport Transfers
AWG (702-792-8000) and CLS (702-740-4545) are the preferred car service providers for the Wynn Las Vegas. CLS offers an online booking option.
Car Rentals
The Consolidated Rental Car Facility is located 3 miles from the airport at 7135 Gilespie Street. A fleet of 40 buses provides free transportation from the terminals to the facility. The facility is not accessible by foot from the Strip. Rental firms strongly advise customers to allow additional time to account for locating and driving to the facility and the bus ride back to the airport.
Hack Laws in Las Vegas
Vegas is not New York. You cannot hail a taxicab from the street (municipal law prohibits taxicabs from stopping traffic to pick up or discharge passengers). Although there are several creative ways to get around this, it is probably easiest to use a taxi stand at a hotel or restaurant or call a cab company. Drop fare is $3.30 and each additional 1/12 mile is $.20 ($2.40 per mile).

Getting Around on the Strip
Walking is the preferred method as you can stroll amongst the spectacular light, fountain and pyrotechnic displays (you can imagine the people watching too). Just be ready for crowded sidewalks and long walks through winding casino corridors to get to your destination. The Deuce, a London-style double decker bus operates up and down Las Vegas Boulevard and costs $3 (exact change only).
